More city to explore
It was such a beautiful mild day today that we decided to go explore Astana's ice city. I have to admit to be pretty disappointed. What promised to be numerous ice sculpures turned out to be but a few with an ice rink, outdoor slide (same as in Petro) and some blaring Michael Jackson music.
We therefore decided to walk further down from the Mega, across from Restaurant Row - this is quite a thing to see....beautiful restaurant after beautiful restaurant...all themed according to national cuisine. Sven was quite happy to see the Kroner ;0)
We also checked out a new shopping center, but were again disappointed as it was too high end, and just typical North Amercian shops at inflated prices...nothing interesting. That being said, Yannik and I ended up at the Eurasia, the local market across from the apt and had a ball choosing Russian valentines to give out to his friends from school.
All in all...another busy day as we are counting down the days!
