Had an amazing afternoon sightseeying with Zhanara. What a great guide. We saw the entire city as she explained the various buildings and their neat nicknames. One point of interest: doctors and teachers get free apts here. I asked about lawyers....perhaps a change of venue would be interesting if it meant free housing ;0))) nyet...no freebies for lawyers....but...free apt for various public servants!
Also noteworthy: Astana is in the Guiness Book of World Records for the most new constructions in a Capital city.
